5v5 Lakeland Summer League Rules
The majority of these rules are in line with the FIFA Futsal Laws of the games, with minor adjustments for our league.
Rules
- Game Play: 2 x 25 min halves with 5 min half time.
- Coachless league. No one but players are allowed on bench/standing areas.
- Substitutions anytime on the fly.
- Kick offs any direction.
- No Offsides.
- Fouls called based on FIFA laws of the game.
- Any foul in the attacking penalty area is taken from the penalty spot.
- No slide tackles (keepers allowed to go to ground in the box).
- No throw-ins. Kick-ins from spot ball went out of play.
- All kick-ins and free kicks are direct (can score). Opposing team 3yd radius from ball to restart play.
- 4 seconds to restart all kick-ins and free kicks, except penalties and kick-offs
- There are no goal kicks the keeper starts with the ball in their hands and it’s a throw. 4 second rule applies to the goal throw as well.
- Keepers cannot punt or drop kick the ball.
- Keepers can not use hands if ball is passed back to them from their own team.
- Keepers can not dribble the ball back into their box to pick it up.
Teams
- 5-9 players per team. Only players in the bench area. No coaches or parents allowed in the bench area or behind the goal. No coaching (technical instruction) from anywhere around the field.
- Teams must wear same color uniform. Bring alternate color. If conflict, away team changes. Numbers are not required on uniforms.
Disciplinary
- Yellow Card / Caution: The offending player is shown a yellow card. If a player is shown two yellow cards in a match, they must sit out the rest of the game.
- Red Card/send-off: The offending team plays with one less player for two full game minutes or unless scored upon before the two-minute penalty expires. The offending player serves a minimum one-match suspension.
- Continued or severe misconduct from any player will be reviewed by the director and may result in suspension from the league.
Weather & Game Reschedules
- If inclement weather develops during a game and it must be stopped, that game is considered complete if one-half of the game has been played.
- If inclement weather develops during a game and it must be stopped, and still in the first half, we will follow our inclement weather guidelines, seek shelter, and resume play if time allows.
- If play can not resume, that game will be rescheduled.
