TSA Recreational

3U to 14U Age Groups

The Lakeland Recreational Soccer program provides a fun and educational youth soccer league for all members of the local community. Players can sign up for either the Fall or Spring seasons or both. Our Fall season runs from August through November and our Spring season runs from March through May. The program provides all children the opportunity to learn the game in a  positive, fun, and productive environment. Our volunteer coaching staff receives training and follows a specific curriculum overseen by our league director.

TSA Junior Academy

7U & 8U Age Groups

The Junior program serves as the initial pathway into our Academy program, providing a foundational experience for young players. This program offers access to elevated coaching standards, age-tailored skills training, and exposure to a higher-level soccer environment compared to recreational soccer. Emphasizing individual skill enhancement, fostering a passion for the sport, and nurturing a sense of camaraderie and teamwork are central objectives of the Junior program. Participants will train under the guidance of professional coaches and engage in league play within our recreational setup, all within a constructive and encouraging atmosphere. Evaluation is a prerequisite for enrollment in the Junior program.

TSA Competitive Academy

9U Age Groups

Players are chosen through open tryouts, with games played in a 7v7 format. This program provides young athletes with professional coaching and exposure to a higher level of competition. Participants will face age-specific challenges and regularly compete against teams of similar caliber in the Memphis area. Throughout the season, coaches assess players based on skill, attitude, athleticism, and ability. Additionally, 9U players may participate in 1-2 local tournaments and travel once per season. Placement in the program hinges on commitment to training and embracing elevated coaching standards.

10U Age Groups

Similar to the 9U category, players are selected through open tryouts for 7v7 games. The program offers professional coaching and a competitive atmosphere for young athletes. Participants will encounter age-appropriate challenges and regularly engage with teams of similar skill levels in the Memphis area. Coaches continually evaluate players based on various criteria. As players progress, TSA aims to group similar-level players for training purposes. Additionally, 10U teams may participate in local tournaments and travel 1-2 times per season. Selection for the 10U program is contingent upon dedication to training and accepting higher coaching standards.

11U & 12U Age Groups

For these age groups, players are chosen via open tryouts, with games played in a 9v9 format. Coaches evaluate both existing and new players based on skill, attitude, athleticism, and ability. Teams are structured according to coaching staff evaluations, focusing on skills development and teamwork, crucial for this transitional age group. If multiple teams are formed, players are divided into 1st and 2nd teams based on ability. However, due to rapid development at this age, coaches have the flexibility to move players between teams as needed. Players in the 11U and 12U categories may participate in local tournaments and travel 2-3 times per season. Additionally, 12U teams may qualify for the TN State League and State Cup.

13U & 14U Age Groups

Players in these age groups are selected through open tryouts, with games played in an 11v11 format. Coaches evaluate both current and new players on various criteria. Teams are formed based on coaching staff evaluations, with potential division into 1st and 2nd teams based on ability. Given the varying rates of development, coaches may adjust team compositions at the end of each season to best support player growth. Participants in the 13U and 14U categories may compete in local tournaments and travel 2-3 times per season. Additionally, they may have the opportunity to participate in the TN State League and State Cup qualification.
