Lakeland Recreational League FAQ's
When will I be assigned to a team?
After registration closes, we begin to form teams and divisions based on the number of players, age groups, and any special requests. This process usually takes a couple of weeks. Once complete, your child is assigned to a team, and when you log in to Teamsnap you will be able to see your team name, including roster, coaches, emails, messages, and more.
Do I need to use TeamSnap?
Absolutely! This is the platform we use to communicate with our members throughout the season. We recommend all members download the app and turn all notifications on. Please note, if viewing an email with an attachment on the app, the attachment will not be available. You will need to open this email in your mail client.
When and where are practices?
Practices are on Mondays-Thursdays at either a 5:30 or 6:30 time slot. You will typically have one practice and one game per week. These days are set, once all teams have been formed, and volunteer coaches' positions have been filled and selected their preferred day. All practices will be at the Lakeland Prep Athletic Annex fields.
When and where are games?
4U-8U teams will play all of their games at the LPA fields, while 10U-15U teams will play home and away games in Lakeland, Arlington, and Bartlett (all facilities within 10 minutes of each other). The majority of 4U-8U games are scheduled for Saturday mornings. 10U-15U games may be scheduled during the week as well as Saturday mornings depending on the division. There are typically 7-9 games scheduled. Rainout dates will be announced as needed.
How do we know if fields are open for play?
Field condition updates will be communicated through TeamSnap alerts and emails no later than 3:00pm, with some exceptions depending on the conditions on the relevant day. The fields are managed and maintained by the City of Lakeland and Lakeland Prep. Decisions regarding field availability are made jointly by the city and the school. Should conditions pose a risk to player safety or the integrity of the playing surfaces, the fields will be closed accordingly.
I want to Volunteer Coach. How do I Help?
Please indicate on your registration form that you are interested in volunteering. If you did not indicate on your registration form but are still interested, Please Click Here For More Information. Volunteer coaching requires no experience, and training is provided.
Does my child need a uniform? How do I order?
Yes. All Lakeland Soccer players are outfitted in quality apparel. The complete kit includes (1) Dri-Fit RED Jersey, (1) Dri-Fit NAVY Jersey, (1) BLACK Adidas Short, (1) RED Adidas sock, and (1) NAVY Adidas sock. The cost for the entire kit is $49.00 plus tax and shipping. Uniforms can be worn in multiple seasons. This cost is in addition to the registration fee.

Does my child need any equipment?
We recommend that all players wear soccer cleats and shinguards for practices and games, bring water/snacks, and the appropriate size soccer ball for their age group. Ball sizes are below. Tennis shoes may be worn if needed. Uniforms are required for games but not for practices although many players like to wear them during practice. All other clothing items worn to practice should be appropriate. We do suggest gloves, hats, underlayers, sweatshirts, and pants when the temps are cold.
- Size 3 Ball: 8U, 6U, 4U
- Size 4 Ball: 10U & 12U
- Size 5 Ball: 14U+
What If I lose Something at the fields?
Please ensure to label all soccer balls, water bottles, and personal belongings brought to practices and games with your name and phone number. While we cannot guarantee the return of these items due to the public nature of the facilities, labeling them with your contact information will greatly assist in their recovery if found.
