When will I be assigned to a team?

After registration closes, we begin to form teams and divisions based on the number of players, age groups, and any special requests. This process usually takes a couple of weeks. Once complete, your child is assigned to a team, and when you log in to Teamsnap you will be able to see your team name, including roster, coaches, emails, messages, and more.

Do I need to use TeamSnap?

Absolutely! This is the platform we use to communicate with our members throughout the season. We recommend all members download the app and turn all notifications on.

When and where are practices?

Practices are on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays at either a 5:30 or 6:30 time slot. You will typically have one practice and one game per week. These days are set, once all teams have been formed, and volunteer coaches' positions have been filled. Practices and games will be at the Lakeland Prep Athletic Annex fields located at 9651 Old Brownsville Dr.

I want to Volunteer Coach. How do I Help?

Please indicate on your registration form that you are interested in volunteering. If you did not indicate on your registration form but are still interested, Please Click Here For More Information. Volunteer coaching requires no experience, and training is provided.

When are the games?

The majority of games are scheduled for Saturday mornings with some possibly during the week throughout the season. There are typically 8 games scheduled. Rainout dates will be announced as needed.

How do we know if fields are open for play?

All field conditions and updates will be made through TeamSnap.

The fields are overseen and maintained by the City of Lakeland & Lakeland Prep. All decisions to open or close the fields are made by the city and the school. If conditions are ever deemed to be unsafe for players or there is a chance of damaging the surfaces, fields will be closed.

Does my child need a uniform? How do I order?

Yes. All Lakeland Soccer players are outfitted in quality apparel. The complete kit includes (1) Dri-Fit RED Jersey, (1) Dri-Fit NAVY Jersey, (1) BLACK Adidas Short, (1) RED Adidas sock, and (1) NAVY Adidas sock. The cost for the entire kit is $49.00 plus tax and shipping. Uniforms can be worn in multiple seasons. This cost is in addition to the registration fee.

All uniforms are ordered online through Soccer.com. Soccer.com is the official provider of all Tennessee Soccer Academy Lakeland Recreational uniforms, equipment, fan wear, and more. All items are available to purchase online through our club store, and shipped directly to your doorstep ready to go. The Club Store is always open, and available to place orders anytime throughout the season. Soccer.com stands behind all of its products and guarantees your satisfaction. All uniform matters such as sizing, delivery, returns, exchanges, backorders, etc, are handled exclusively by Soccer.com. Use the link below to visit the store.

Does my child need any equipment?

We recommend that all players wear soccer cleats and shinguards for practices and games, bring water/snacks, and the appropriate size soccer ball for their age group. Ball sizes are below. Tennis shoes may be worn if needed. Uniforms are required for games but not for practices although many players like to wear them during practice. All other clothing items worn to practice should be appropriate. We do suggest gloves, hats, underlayers, sweatshirts, and pants when the temps are cold.

  • Size 3 Ball: 8U, 6U, 5U
  • Size 4 Ball: 10U & 12U
  • Size 5 Ball: 14U+

What If I lose Something at the fields?

We ask that everyone label all soccer balls, water bottles, and any other belongings brought to practices and games with their name and phone number. Because these are public facilities and open to other members of the community, we can not guarantee those items will be returned, but it will help if an item is found and labeled with the owner's information.
