Competitive Program Overview
At Tennessee Soccer Academy (TSA), our Competitive Program is designed for players who are ready to take the next step in their development within a positive, structured, and professionally led environment. We are committed to developing players the right way—focusing on long-term growth, confidence on the ball, and a true love for the game, all while staying connected to our local communities.
TSA offers competitive programming across multiple locations, including Arlington, Lakeland, Oakland, Atoka, and Munford, with older age groups (U15–U19) competing in the Arlington, Bartlett, and Lakeland areas through our partnership with Midsouth Bartlett Futbol Club. This regional approach allows us to provide high-level training and competition while keeping players close to home.
Our program is led by licensed, experienced coaches who follow a consistent club-wide curriculum built on the four pillars of player development: Technical, Tactical, Physical, and Psychosocial. Training sessions are designed to maximize touches on the ball, encourage decision-making, and build confident, creative players. We prioritize development over results—especially at the younger ages—ensuring players are learning in an environment that supports growth, not pressure.
Teams train multiple times per week and compete in structured league play through organizations such as USYS, US Club Soccer, and TSSA, along with select tournaments throughout the year. Players also have access to additional development opportunities, including skills clinics, camps, and position-specific training led by our professional staff.
TSA provides a clear pathway for players, beginning with our recreational and Junior Academy programs and progressing into competitive soccer at the appropriate time. Our staff works closely to identify and support players who are ready for the next level, ensuring every child is placed in the right environment for their development.
Beyond the field, we place a strong emphasis on character, sportsmanship, and community. We expect players, coaches, and families to represent TSA with respect—supporting teammates, respecting referees, and creating a positive sideline environment at all times.
If your player is motivated to improve, compete, and be part of a club that values development, culture, and community, TSA Competitive Soccer is the right place to grow.
TSA Player Pathway
Junior Academy (U7–U8 | 4v4 & 7v7)
The Junior Academy is the foundation of our player pathway and the first step into our academy environment. Players train in a structured, positive setting focused on ball mastery, confidence, and love for the game. Sessions are built around maximizing touches and introducing simple decision-making in a fun, age-appropriate way. Players train with professional coaches while continuing to play within a recreational game format.
Commitment: 1–2 practices + 1 game per week + optional club skills (evaluation required)
Competitive Academy (U9–U10 | 7v7)
Players are selected through tryouts and begin competing in a more structured team environment. Training emphasizes technical development, 1v1 ability, and building comfort in possession. Players are encouraged to make decisions, solve problems, and play with confidence. Teams compete locally with limited travel and tournament opportunities.
Commitment: 2 practices + 1 game per week + optional club skills
Competitive Academy (U11–U12 | 9v9)
This stage introduces a more complete understanding of the game. Training focuses on team play, positional awareness, and decision-making while continuing to build strong technical habits. Players are grouped based on development level, with flexibility to move as they grow. Teams may compete in local leagues, tournaments, and State-level play.
Commitment: 2–3 practices + 1 game per week + optional club skills
Competitive Academy (U13–U14 | 11v11)
